What do I have to do to transfer my Massage License (Florida) to Virginia.?

There are some States that are not just State Licensed but City Licensed, so you'll want to make sure which it is, and it could be both like it is here in AZ.

You'll also want to find out if they require you to take a reexamination(written &/or practical), or just require you to show you're Certificate of Massage as well as quite possible a certain amount of Continuing Education Credits for the year and then just pay for the licensing fee.

So, You'll want to make sure that you hold at least the minimum number of hour on your Certificate of Massage that are required for a Massage Therapist to work in the State of Virginia or the City in Virginia where you'll be working.

To become certified in Virginia, you need to fill out an application (http://www.dhp.virginia.gov/Forms/nursing/MT/examination_forms.doc)and send it to the Board of Nursing along with the application fee, which is $105. There is a page that needs to be notarized. Contact your school and ask them to send the Board your transcripts. The required minimum hours of school for massage in Virginia is 500 so as long as you've had more than that, you won't have to take any additional classes. Contact the NCBTMB to have your scores sent ($15). Then wait. It takes the NCBTMB up to six weeks to process your score request and the Board of Nursing up to four weeks to process your application. So I would do this well in advance of your move so you can be prepared to work as soon as you get here.

Virginia does not have certification by city/county; the statewide certification is sufficient.
