What do you have available for client use?

Hello all!

First of I apologize if I am posting this in the wrong forum, coulsn't find a perfect fit for it

So anyways,
The business I work for is expanding (very exciting) and my bosses have left the massage aspect all to me (gotta love it!) So I'm pretty much all set with the decor but since our new space is larger they would like me to add somethings in. Their idea, which I also like, is to have an area with certain things available to clients such as towels and wipes to remove lotion or fix make up after a session. Normally I keep mints and extra hair ties avaiable for clients as well as a place for them to keep their jewelry/keys. Basically we want our clients to feel a little more pampered now that we are transforming from a physical therapy office to more of a health solutions facility, offering nutritional counseling, yoga, personal training, reiki, reflexology and massage along with the PT. So that is where you lovely people come in! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

In our restrooms we have a small wicker box/caddy that has a ceramic dispenser with mouthwash in it and small dixie cups, spray deoderant, and nice lotions. We also have a discreet clay type jar with a lid for "emergency" supplies that ladies may need.

In our waiting area we have a large assortment of indv. wrapped teas, instant coffees, hot cocoa, and instant apple cider with a variety of sweeteners. We keep positive magazines in the waitng area, and just recently added a tv/dvd and started playing demo videos of different treatments we offer (ashiatsu, facials, yoga/pilates, hot stone, etc).

I myself just got home from painting with the other therapists...we re-did 2 bathrooms and a treatment roomIt's amazing how much more fun it is when you have a botlle of wine, take out and great company!

I'm amazed no one mentioned chocolate yet ? It should be the good dark chocolate...then there's always some nice decadent chocolate chip cookies ! They may not be good for the waistline, but they are good for the soul !

If you want to retail items:
You could offer demos & few of the therapists favorite choices of music & meditation CDs for sale, as well as essential oils, candles, flax packs & eye pillows, plus some salt & sugar scrubs. Perhaps have some lotion & bath oil testers out, with larger bottles for sale.

To make the room a nice relaxing space you may add in a water element, such as a fountain or a fish tank, plus having an essential oil diffuser going or possibly consider an air purifier.

I do have Ghiradelli squares in a candy dish on the desk. Next to the granola bars! Im going to be remodeling my bathroom soon, and I see alot of excellent ideas here for clients.

Chocolate! duh! Why did I not think of that! lol That will be great considering valentines day is around the corner. I've already picked out a great water fountain. I'm also leaving some facial wipes (no water needed) for wiping off lotion or make up touch ups. I occasionally make chocolates in molds shaped as hands and feet and sometimes even massage bars, they are adorable! I love every ones ideas, I'm having alot of fun with this post!

Having just been to Sam's Club... they have these really cool Hershey's Dark Chocolate "tasting squares"....
I was all impressed... if that doesn't sound "high end"... I don't know what does! LOL

I forgot to mention the granola bars! This is a HUGE hit! Clients are always rushing to get to their appointment, and they are so appreciative to have something to snack on so their stomach isn't growling in the middle of their massage!

Each therapist offers something different in their treatment room, some offer hard candy, mints, or chocolate.

The hot water dispenser makes it sooooo easy for the tea! You will love it!

This has been on my mind lately..what to add? Right now I offer a bottle of room temperature water (the manicure/pedicure section of our spa out front offers hot tea and cups of cold water). I also offer chocolate candy, and snack packs of crackers. I also have a container of rewetting eyedrops for contact lens wearers.
I would love to see some more cool ideas...giving thought to the granola bars

I offer my client several things to help make their time with me appreciated. I give them cold bottled water, granola bars, fresh chilled fruit trays, wrapped chocolate candies, homeade cookies,peppermints, bagels,fresh coffees, teas,juices and complimentary newspapers/mags on the waiting room tables for reading while they wait. I love pampering my clients, and they in return tip very well for my generosity. My sheets are always nice and toasty warm, the lubricant is warm, and I always answer any client questions and concerns any time they arise. My clients are my reason for keeping the bills paid,and they are great!! Hope this helps out!!

So the waiting room came out amamzing with tea set up, the granola bars are a big hit too. In the treatment rooms I have a table set up with a wicker basket with lotions, body mist, facial wipes, I even included some rewetting drops that come in indiviual one time use packaging. I found adorable bowls at target, I'm leaving one out with pink hershey kisses for valentines day and the other empty (clients like to use it to hold there jewelry, keys, ect.) I also made sure to leave my referall cards out and a sign reminding them that gift certificates are available for valentines day (ofcourse!) I appreciate my clients, and I want them to feel special so I hope they enjoy this, I'll let you know how it works out! Keep the ideas coming!

wow! All of these are wonderful ideas...I just give out a bottle of water..but the candies are a wonderful idea..especially with Valentines day coming up,, hershey kisses are a cute idea...so, the granola bars etc.. they are givin out free of charge? great ideas!

Yes, I have these items out for use free of charge. My clients who know that there tummy starts growling during their massage started grabbing granola bars before sessions I enjoy making my clienst feel special, because they are!


oh, and totally forgot to mention having tissues available, a must during sniffle season! And can't forget the hand sanitizer either.

those are wonderful ideas..I always have granola bars on hand for ME because MY stomach growling during a massage..lol..never thought of offering it to my clients !! (selfish me} can I ask what brand granola bars do you use? Or better yet, do you offer different flavors? :

These are all terrific ideas!

I keep a clear jar with an easily removable (but air-sealed) lid (like a typical bathroom jar from one of those Bed/bath/beyond/linens&things stores) filled with a handful of cotton balls that I've moistened with some essential oils (Eucalyptus and a bit of peppermint). It's part of my ending ritual, after I end the massage, I whisper that I'll be taking out the bolster and then giving them time to get up, get dressed, and meet me outside. I always tell my clients that if they feel at all stuffy (I usually end with them prone) they can open the jar and take a few sniffs and it helps to clear them right up. So many clients have commented how much they love this. The funny thing is, I didn't think this would happen, but a lot of them take a cotton ball out to take with them, which wasn't my intention, but...whatever! It's cheap and easy to replace.

I was even thinking of getting some of those very small plasic bags (like the jewelry size) and putting in one cotton ball with a few drops of EOs and sending it with them when they leave. Maybe putting my label on it...hmmm... t115

Great idea, peaceful harbor. I put essential oils on a tissue and clothespin it on the crossbar underneath the facecradle so the fragrance wafts up while the client is prone. It only takes a drop, and if it seems too strong I move it lower.

I think this would be too much, too close for me for a whole massage if I were the client. Can I say this (sort of) out loud here? As much as I like the idea of EOs, I find a great many of them hard to take. Another therapist I trade with is BIG into EOs etc and she uses a blend with me that I do like and she does something I thought was cool. At the start of the massage (prone) when she has the oil on her hands, she holds them under the face cradle and encourages some nice deep breaths. Then you have the scent started and as she works it fills the room. Nice.

I should have been more specific. I only do this if their nose starts getting too stuffy while prone, if they want me too, and I only leave it for a little while. My previous post was too vague, sorry bout that.
