What does it mean when a girl you've never talked to before stays and

chats with you after her friends left? I was with a group of 3 other people, 2 of them I knew, but I didn't know the girl. Whenever we were in the group she would completely ignore me, as if I didn't exist. The 2 people I knew left, but she stayed and talked to me. She stayed with me( We were at a track meet) and she talked to me(asking what grade/age i was). She seemed interested, but left because her friend forced her to go to the snack bar with her. Previous to this, she had been staring at me from distance, more of a blank stare. This chat happened about 4 months ago, and she still glances at me still, (she did today at XC practice) She seemed like she wanted to talk more and seemed a little upset that she had to leave. Anytime I look at her, she makes eye contact then turns away. About a week ago, while stretching, I looked up, and she looked up at the same time, and she immediately looked down, said something to her friend and smiled. Her friend then started staring at me for the rest of the time stretching. Another incident happened the next day. During a team huddle, we were sitting down in a circle (there's a lot of people on the team) and she looked like she was looking for somebody. She looked at me, then immediately looked down. She then looked at me a few more times during the huddle. Recently, I noticed anytime I look at her, she's looking at me first, and she turns away and sometimes smiles. Other times I have noticed her glancing at me quickly while in groups before races and etc. my friend noticed her checking me out discreetly as I was walking by. Another friend of mine (a girl) who's friends with her asked her if she's been staring at me and she said no. This was about 3 months ago, and after that, I have noticed her glancing at me more often. Do girls usually do this? Does she like me, or is she creeped out? She's really, really cute, and I sort of like her. I don't want to jump the gun, and so I was curious as to if she likes me or not. I've talked to her friends, and they don't seem weirded out by me and i've had conversations with them (not about her though). I'm confused at this point. Sorry if It's incoherent I was typing kind of fast.
