What is a good book to introduce Islam?

My mother is absurdly racist when it comes to Muslims. However, she likes to hide this racism in a clock of concern for their "negative treatment of women"

I try to point out to her that all the media shows her are the most radical Muslims, that radical people of most religions treat women badly, and that there are many moderate Muslims who are perfectly fine towards women. But short of bringing some of my feminist Muslim friends to her house (religion has never come up with them and I dont want to have to explain) I have no idea what to do!

Does anyone know of a book that can reconcile feminism and Islam? Or at least de-mystify the religion to the extent that my mother wont make her racist comments anymore?
As someone so aptly pointed out, the word I was looking for was prejudiced, not racist, my bad!

Also, while I appreciate those who are pointing out the things I should say, she's not likely to listen to me, thats why I'm looking for a basic, succinct book that can make the arguments for me

Point one you should explain to your mother is that Islam is not a race so how can she be racist towards us when we come in every colour under the sun?
She may very well be prejudice and bigoted towards Islam but she cannot be racist.
What ''negative treatment of women'' would that be? As a Muslim woman I have never received an ounce of negative treatment, from whom exactly? For what purpose? Sure there are women in the world who suffer bigotry, oppression, abuse but it is a human rights issue all over the world for women and some of those women are yes, Muslims does not mean Islam is responsible for someone having an abusive husband. Abusive husbands are not exclusive to any race, faith or nationality last time I checked. Perhaps you should show you mother a few statistic of her own fellow country men and women regards abuse issue before she goes pointing the finger in the direction of anyone else.
You should tell her there are 1.6 Billion Muslims less than 0.05% are extremists of any description, leaving 99.95% of us NOT.
Abuse against women, killing innocent people are NOT part of Islam and are very much sins in Islam. Islam is all about women's right and any Muslim woman will tell you that.
