I've noticed in many books and on course outlines not much attention seems to be paid towards the Ayurvedic formula oils. In fact, in a recent conversation with a practicing IHM therapist she knew very little about the oils available.
This did surprise me, i've been studying traditional Indian hair care for a few years now and tend to use the herbs like shikakai, reetha, amla etc when washing my hair and stock quite a few Ayurvedic hair oils. In traditional Indian hair care massaging the scalp with oils is considered very important for promoting hair growth with different oils and herb extracts complimenting the effects of the massage.
I'd be interested to know if many practitioners here stock oils with herb extracts in or just a few simple ones like almond, coconut etc to offer clients.
