What term should I use other than "boyfriend" to introduce my love...

...interest to family and friends? I am much older and do not want to use the terms "boyfriend" or "lover" to introduce my love interest to family and friends. What term should I use that is appropriate for my age? He is not my "partner", "companion" or 'significant other" as we do not live together. I want him to feel comfortable in the introduction as well. Any suggestions?
He and I are quite a bit more than just friends.

I know "boyfriend" can sound a bit juvenile, but you seem to have eliminated most of the other available options. If you don't want to introduce him as simply your "friend," I'd suggest avoiding giving him an actual title, and just introduce him by name, and add that you're seeing each other. For instance, "This is Mike; we've been dating/seeing each other for ____." Or something similar.

Well it sounds like that just gets rid of pretty much all options except for introducing him as "a friend". It's simple enough.
