what training is required for those who give massages in salons?

are spa services just part of cosmotology school or have they specifically studied massage therapy?
I'm asking if those who work in salons are CMT/LMTs or if they went to cosmotology school. I'm just curious what kind of training it requires. I already have my own career!

Yes, they are CMTs/LMTs. Massage school is a whole separate entity from cosmetology school. Cosmetology covers hair, nails, and makeup. A cosmetologist would be permitted to massage the hands and feet while giving nail services and the scalp while giving hair services, but they are not educated on the anatomy, physiology, pathology, etc.,etc., of the rest of the body. To offer full-body massage to the public, one has to have all the qualifications required by the state one lives in, including completing an approved program of a certain length, passing national exams, etc.
