I'm risk averse, so I've stockpiled liquid and illiquid investments. I should be good for at least a year, but I'm fortunate enough to be in a fairly versatile profession. I'm very specialized in my field, but I could always go back into the trenches.
One of the most valuable insights that i learned early in my career is that you have to be able to sell yourself. You can be the best at what you do, but if you can't market, you'll always be dependent on someone else to feed you. Any job can be taken away from you.
The ability to make your own rain is a skill that no one can take away from you.
I know I can grind it if I have to.
