This is not a client of ours, but a friend of mine who is in another state. She's been struggling with this for quite some time, and has recently asked if massage might be able to help her (or some other related form of bodywork). As I am so inexperienced, I really don't know what to suggest to her; I asked her permission to forward her comments to you folks, to see if someone here *might* recognize her symptoms and have some suggestions for her to pursue:
As for the pain? It didn't help it. It helped me relax so that I can cope with it better, but that is it. We know that there is a lot of pressure in my head, and that there are bulgy "pockets" on various places on my skull, but he doesn't know how to fix those or if he should even try. The one doctor was worried about them, the next wasn't. Confused We are just muddling along, with not much help from the medical community.
.....
Renee, the condensed, short version of it is this:
I have severe pain in my head that started Jan. 26th and has remained constant with occasional increases, then dropping back down to the same level of normal. It felt like I had been hit in the head with a hard object when it started. Through the course of this, I have had total paralysis on my right side more than once, loss of speech, distorted vision, poor balance, difficult thinking skills, ringing in my ears, and lots and lots of pain. I have had several chiro visits, many clinic visits, 2 ER visits, lots of drugs, IVs, oxygen, and now massage. MRI and CT scan were done, but they didn't do either with contrast.
We don't have anyone else locally for me to see, except neurologists, and we are waiting on a consult in JUNE...so dh and I are doing everything we can on our own.
