What's marmas and the hara?

What's marmas and hara? It has something to do with Chinese medicine. I have over twenty school/study books for massage and I can't find out what it is. I has something to do with Eastern medicine.

Heather,Use the internet.  Go to http://www.google.com and type in anything that you have questions about.  After checking out several sources you will have an idea.For instance, this was one description I found.What are the Marma Points?Marma points are positions on the body where flesh, veins, arteries, tendon, bones and joints meet. They may also be described as the junctions where Vayu, Pitta and Kapha meet...I think of them as similar to accupressure points or Tsubos.As far as Hara...Hara is associated with the third Chakra - it is located in your belly and is associated with personal power.  Google the term to learn more about it.The answers are out there! The hara is located about 3 fingers width below the navel.  Also known as the "Life Gate".  In Shiatsu, the hara can be used as a diagnosis of health conditions by palpating in a large circle around the area of the abdomen.  My first level shiatsu teacher could tell each person something personal about their individual health by 'reading the hara', it was neat!

The hara is as posted, "center of power" and correlates to the dan tein.  The hara line connects everyone through the hara point to the center of the earth's core and to the "god head", which is your "individuation" point, and sits about 3' above your head.  I've read that if you can align the hara point, the "godhead" and the molten core, then a tone is heard coming from the "god head" or individuation point.  The tone is unique to everyone.  This alignment has much to do with your higher intention.  "Hands of Light" by Barbara Brennan explains all this and also has a good hara alignment "exercise" (or is it in "light Emerging" her 2nd book).
