I'm interested in getting into the sport so was wondering whats a good gun for someone new.
 
Its the same in any sporting activity. Learn and perfect your technique first, then, get your custom gear.
 
A good quality double-action revolver is simplest and safest for beginners. Feel of some at gunstores or shooting ranges. A proper revover should balance and point well. One that is not too bulky is best, but it should not be too small either. It must strike a proper balance in size to be useful in fast draw. It must not have excessive recoil.
