What's the job market honestly like for upcoming massage therpaists?

I'm looking to become a massage therapist within the next year, and have heard a lot about the many job opportunites. My question is, how much of this is fluff, and how much of it is real? For example, will it be relatively easy to get a job? What kind of places are actively looking for massage therapists? What is the average pay for a massage therapist?

If anyone has any info at all on this, I would greatly appreciate a reply.

If you give happy endings... you will never have trouble finding a job. If you don't give happy endings, then you need to start looking for jobs in vacation destinations.

We're in a recession in the US. Massage is usually a luxury and lots of people don't have money for it right now.

I know one therapist of longstanding who is seriously thinking of closing her shop.

It's a tough time.

There may be many job opportunities but they're probably commission. No customers, no pay. It doesn't cost the boss anything to hire people on commission.

This won't last forever and the profession can bring in good money.
