3/4 lb ground pork
3/4 lb ground turkey or hamburger
1 tablespoon onion, minced
1/2 teaspoon parsley
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic salt
2 egg
1-1 1/2 cup Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
Directions
1In a large mixing bowl add the meats and blend together with your hands.
2Add the onion, parsley, pepper, and garlic salt. Mix again with your hands until all the seasonings are well blended with the meat.
3In a bowl beat the eggs until well beaten. While mixing the egg into the meat mixture, add the bread crumbs 1/2 cup at a time until the meat begins to feel slightly firm.
4Form the meat into 1 1/2" balls with your hands.
5Gently place in cooking pan so that the meatballs are close but not touching.
6Cook in pre-heated oven at 450 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 minutes or until browned.
7The meatballs will not be fully cooked yet.
8Add meatballs to your favorite sauce and simmer for one hour.
swedish turkey meatballs
2 lbs ground turkey (7% lean)
1 egg
3/4 cup breadcrumbs
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
2 teaspoons lemon pepper seasoning
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
2 tablespoons chopped parsley
1 tablespoon onion flakes
2 cans chicken broth
2-3 cups home made white sauce
hot cooked egg noodles
Directions
1Combine the first ten ingredients and shape into 1 1/2" meatballs.
2In a large non-stick Dutch oven, brown meatballs in 1 tbsp of butter, turning carefully every few minutes to brown all sides, maintaining meatball shape.
3Add chicken broth and simmer for 15 minutes.
4Add white sauce.
Swedish cream sauce for meat balls
1/8 pint cream
1/4 pint beef stock
1/2 tablespoon soy sauce, to taste
1 tablespoon white flour
1 tablespoon water
salt
white pepper
Directions
1Swirl out the pan with boiling beef stock.
2Add the cream.
3Add the flour mixed with approx 1 tablepoons of water.
4Add the seasonings.
5Simmer until the sauce thickens.
6Serve with Swedish meatballs.
