A ban on the issuance of massage parlor licenses, instituted in April, was lifted by Wheeling trustees Monday, Aug. 1.
Trustees approved the moratorium on licensing so village staff could research ways to make village code more clear in regard to what is allowed at massage establishments. According to Community Development Director Andrew Jennings, some of the village’s massage establishments were attracting customers through online escort postings and offering sexual services.
