When are your busiest days?
Don't worry about jumping through too many hoops, or you'll soon be a great hoop-jumper & a tired massage therapist ... it took me a long time to establish some healthy boundaries for myself. Now that I have, it makes running my business so much easier!
Jill/Sagetherapist
That's so true Jill. I got a call Monday afternoon just as I was going into a session with a client. The woman had been in pain all weekend and wanted a massage that day, she'd found out from the health food store that I was going to be there for another client that afternoon from 3-4. So, she was VERY upset that I could only offer her a 30 min. session ย at 2:15. She said,"Only a half hour, do you think you can help me in a half hour? I haven't had a massage in a long time." (*snorts* Like that's MY Fault?)
And I told her, "I think you'd have some pain relief, yes." (Though I knew it was going to be very hard for me to squeeze in the 2:15... I wanted to help.) And then, against my better judgement and because she sounded frantic and in pain... I offered to see her from 4:30 until 5:30... though I had to be @ a funeral @ 6 pm. ย So, she says she'll think about it and call me back. ย And of course I obsess about what I did wrong and why I couldn't get the client to book if she was in such pain. *sigh* I offered her Wednesday morning or early afternoon as well.
And I get a call back at 3:59 on Monday... that she's just going to sit still and try to get better. ย :
I KNEW better. *kicks self*
There Is No Such Thing as a Massage Emergency!!!
I don't remember if it was you Jill, or someone else on this board who said, nobody has died from lack of massage and if they're hurting that bad... they should go to the emergency room.
*repeats to self* "Boundaries, boundaries, boundaries..."
So, Ego, how's it going? Which 2 days did you choose?
LOL ย ;D
