When MPA asks, have you ever been here before?

Here's a question for fellow massageplanet.netERS....

When going into an MP and the MPA asks have you ever been here before or any other spa in general, do you think it's best if you say that you haven't been to that spa or a spa before or is it best you say you frequent spas often.

I feel if you tell them you have been to spas before they won't try to rip you off, because they would think you know how spas work, correct?

As opposed to if you tell them you've never been, they will try and boost up the rates and throw in an extra $20.00 here and there, for this or that, which should be included in what you pay for?

In my experience it doesn't make any difference. I'm usually pretty honest when they ask. I haven't been to that many mp's though.

I have tried both approaches, and have never been ripped off by a rate hike. As a matter of fact, MPA's can be extra friendly if you pretend "this is my first time". Probably they derive some kind of pleasure from the idea that they are breaking you in. If you do this, make sure you don't accidently mention other MP or MPA's.

However, I've tried the other approach as well, where I've mentioned that I'm a frequent visitor. The girl's usually don't care, and I don't think the level of service is affected.

I usually give the honest answer. I doubt that it makes any difference. A part from one individual MPA @ my favpurite spa who love to talk about other mpa's , i"ve noticed that whenever we talk about other hot mpa's our sessions get unusually hot.

Honesty, I am usually pretty open with them as I find they relax more with you and are more likely to treat you well. HOWEVER, I don't say that I got to all sorts of places, if they think you will be a regular you will get good treatment...

I think they ask you if you've been here before to make sure you understand what type of "massage" you are getting... amongst other reasons.

Either say Yes. This gets tricky as she may ask who you've seen and you can get caught in the lie.........

or, say "not to this spa before". Emphasis is on the "this spa" is to indicate that I'm no rookie so don't try to rip me off. It's still honest this way and they may want to impress to establish repeats (heck, you've just indicated that you go somewhat often)

I tend to go with the second approach.

I've found that it does depend on the spa. Some spa's welcome new customers, others are a bit nervous. Sometimes you can catch a name by word of mouth or website.

I've found I've gotten good treatment when I claim that I am there because I've "heard about the place".
