Banana's or an apple and cheese and crackers. And yes- still the same. (Although an granola type energy bar works great now too, but they weren't around when I was a kid...)

Yes to all the rest, and I don't know whether the kids would wanna drink from the hose, but I'd let them if they wanted to. (Disclaimer- my kids are now old enought to wander the neighbourhood, but I admit I was concerned about it when they were younger.)

She said to go out and ply. If I were bugging her she would tell me to go play in traffic. Scared the crap out of me when they moved us across from the I90

We were tossed outside at 7AM.

We drank out of the hose. I still drink from the hose, and gross everyone out.

The usual snack was a Pop-Sicle.

- A frozen popsicle stick...actually, they still are.

- Yep and I still do.

- She sure did, but we lived in the country, so it was more like roaming the woods and creeksides, then she'd ring a large bell on our front porch for lunchtime and I'd come in for supper when it was getting dark.

- Yeah, though I have no kids, but popsicles are still a favorite among my neices and nephews.

- Sure, but like I said, there was no neighborhood back then.

Favorite snack was cheesestrings! LOL Still love em . Drank from the hose, never had to be told to go play because I was always out before Mom even woke up! Of course I'd let my kids drink from the hose and wander the neighborhood and eat what they want, kids will be kids

-- Cookies! Haha I wish! Was usually a banana or a cucumber.
-- No :frown: We travelled all over the world when I was a kid. Had to drink filtered water or risk getting some life-threatening disease.
-- Nope. Even though things changed drastically once I was a teen, my parents were never around when I was little. I did whatever I wanted to really... explored whichever neighborhood we were in...made friends sometimes. Or was by my lonesome.
-- Yes. And yes I'd let my kids have access to everything in the kitchen.

Chewing raw rhubarb would stave off hunger pains.
