WHich Amps take credit cards?

7th heaven. Takes mc. Not 100 percent sure about amx. They charge an uplift of something like 20/ to use your card. You are also asked for your DL. They take that in the back and writ all your info down. Hawaii - now another name also does. Same drill on the DL etc. I would be hesitant to give an amp my mc

JADE takes credit cards but there is a service fee.

I've used Amex at hawaii and seventh multiple times with no issues. But yea they do ask for DL.

Probably easier to answer which don't because last I recall Smile was one of few that didn't and the fee at the other places use to be no more than $5 But with G's info I guess it has gone up.

just curious why it's so hard to just walk in with 200 bucks. they have these things all over town called 'ATM Machines'. i think these are a spinoff of the space program or something.

also am surprised so many do take cards. seems too easy for some wanker to use one and then dispute the charge later on.

i would suggest not using cards at amp's. It only took me one time to find out the hard way. I used a card at a AMP this next day, i had 1k missing from my account. These places have contacts to people that know how use your numbers.

Really? Was it a charge from the AMP? You say "missing from your account", was it a credit card or a debit card? Was it resolved? Why didn't you post an alert? Which AMP?

I've only used my card at 7th n Hawaii( jade). Each time they brought me back a receipt for me to sign and one for my copy. if you use Amex, which I do, and keep the receipt you will win a chargeback no problems, if they charge you more. I personally have never had to do a chargeback against the amps. Quite honestly, if you don't have cash I wouldn't hesitate to use cc at either of these two amps. Just my advice.

Speaking from direct experience with the card companies and merchant services (processors) working with the nightclub industry, the vendor will win a chargeback claim if (1) they have a copy of the drivers license, (2) a copy of the credit card, and (3) a copy of a signed receipt. If they have that trifecta, it doesn't matter what the "wanker" claims.

So for all of you using credit cards at AMP's, just know that they are likely scanning your credit card and drivers license into a .pdf file into a laptop in the back of house.



IF they charge you more, yes. And AMEX is notoriously difficult for vendors to fight chargeback claims. That said, if they have the drivers license copy, the credit card copy, and the signed credit card receipt, even AMEX will have to honor the charge.

That's not true, at least for businesses which I have first-hand knowledge, the credit card and driver's licenses info. are not scanned into a pdf. A hard copy along with the signed terminal receipt is secured off-site for the required 90 days. Those paper documents are shredded after 90 days, and unless disputed, NEVER copied to electronic media.

Uh, why would you want any information tying you back to an AMP?

We all know the AMPS are targetted by LE on occassions, all they have to do is trump up some probable cause reason to get the records, and your name is on a list floating around that you have been there and paid $$ for a massage with a hefty service charge.

Despite the guy in one of the other forums discussing floating money in offshore accounts to help with the transfers, this is a cash business that is best kept that way.

It's a matter of cost and convenience. Scanning and later deleting is more convenient for us than having a copy machine onsite.

Whether they are keeping a soft copy or hard copy, though, I assure the AMP's are copying your card and DL. They have to if unless they want to lose thousands of dollars every year in chargebacks.

I've used cc at Blue Angel and Jasmine. Not proud of the fact, but when you need it, you need it.

Its best to bring enough to cover just about any circumstance.

For example, you're set for on provider and at the last moment she comes waltzing in with another friend who's equally gorgeous. If the little head begins doing its thing, one doesn't have to go through the dilemma of whether or not to reach for the cc.

Just curious, how does the transaction appear when your next cc bill arrives?
