Which oils do you use the most of?

I am hoping to restart my business soon and am trying to decide which oils to buy. I made the mistake last time of buying too many so am trying to limit it to around 10 to start with as I'm not expecting many clients for a while. Which oils do you use the most of?

I was thinking lavender, tea tree, geranium, rosemary, lemon, ylang ylang and Roman chamomile. Maybe black pepper and orange.

Carriers - almond and grapeseed.

You sound a bit like me lol. I started up years ago but between having my second child then going into childminding my aromatherapy business kind of got left as a hobby -after spending loads on essential oils. I have just restarted mine this month and bought lavender, sweet marjoram, roman chamomile, sweet orange, geranium, eucalyptus, tea tree, rosemary and peppermint and will build them up gradually. One of my favourite blends is lavender, roman chamomile and sweet marjoram. My daughter does gymnastics and have found this to be really good for her and fellow gymnasts and also with people with aching backs etc. I've also been using a little on my son who has eczema and seems to be helping - more so the lavender and chamomile I imagine. I have the same two carriers as you too x

I also use Bergamot, Frankincense, Neroli, Pine and Clary Sage along with your list.

Thank you. I would have added lavender but, to be honest, I don't really like the smell of it.

I'm also a bit worried about the cost of insurance as I'm thinking I won't have too many clients for a while and it'll probably end up costing me to treat them rather than me making a bit of money. Only one way to find out though.

Where did you purhase your oils from?

I was thinking of buying a student pack, or would I be better off buying the oils individually.

Usually you get a better deal if you buy them like that - take a look at the student kits offered by Natural Touch. And, on the whole, student kits are geared to the oils you're most likely to use.

Hi Ylangrose

You could consider mandarin for your orange oil. It's a gentle oil and even suitable for pregnant ladies. Lovely aroma too.
I stopped buying lemon as never ever used it and it goes off so quickly.

Ravensara is a great oil too. I use it in my pain blends.

Bear in mind that some eo suppliers offer 5ml bottles, usually of the more expensive oils.
I use Katseye for my oils.

Thank you for replies. Yes I think mandarin would be a good choice. I've not heard of ravensara. Just looked it up. That might be a good one to add too. I've got 19 oils on my list now. More than I wanted so I'll have to cross a few out for now.
