Who are your clients, and what do they want?

Hi, I am about to start out as a brand new therapist [&:] and I would like to get an idea of who a "typical" IHM client is - if such a thing exists. EG do they tend to be female, young, and loaded, or is demand more widespread than that.

Also, since IHM has benefits to health AND beauty, which aspect seems to be more popular with clients?

Hi,

I'm not a practicing IHM therapist but putting my knowledge of therapy together with my knowledge of business, I'd suggest that you need to decide what part of IHM is important to you and what market you want and target that.

For example, you could focus on the stress-relief aspect and look at the corporate market.
Alternatively, you could emphasize the health-giving aspect and aim your marketing at, say, OAPs. Or you could just sell the pampering aspect if you have access to well-heeled clientelle.

I couldn't say a 'type' for IHM - I'd say most of mine are headache and migraine sufferers..

I agree - not a particular type but I would say my IHM clients are mainly stressed out and are looking for deep relaxation.

I think what bothered me is seeing YET ANOTHER holistic clinic setting up in my town. There are two ways of looking at this ...

Is it that (negative view); there are too many people trying to "jump on the holistic bandwagon", or (positive view) demand for holistic treatment is growing all the time ....

What's your experience?
