The place you are working at sounds like the salon I used to work at. It was a 60/40 split. They did the booking and provided the space (and utitlies), but very little marketing other than including the word massage in the telephone book ads they did. I provided the oils, linens, music etc.
My availability there was:
8 am to 5 PM Monday, Wednesday and Friday
8 am to 4 PM Tuesday and Thursday
8 am to 12 Noon Saturday
I quit working there about 3 years ago.
After nearly 3 years of providing mobile (outcall) service only, I took a job in a brand new spa in town. Although I was asked to be available for work scheduling on Mon/Wed/Friday 9-5, Tues/Thurs 10-6:30, and Saturday 9-3.
I have been scheduled to work 2 days per week so far, because they have 3 other MTs on staff as well. This spa opened Nov. 25th however, so I am trying to be patient and wait for the GCs to start being redeemed.
I live in a tourist area and this is our "slow season" as well. :roll:
They have me "oncall" 2 days per week and I must be there within 45 minutes. On days which I am not officially on call, I can still be "requested"... but then they have to give me more notice.
