After going to Costa Rica for since 95', and having many wonderful times. I just don't understand why the girls cost so much. I just came back from the philippines, where the average wage is about half that of Costa rica, but the girls cost 1/4 of the girls in Costa Rica. Anywhere from ten to forty a night, and they are nice. Is anyone on the same page as me??. BTW very little V.D. to speak of unlike Thailand.

Part of the answer is that CR is so easy and cheap to get to from the US, and so well-known that there's a plentiful supply of fresh new "fish" with all that "Oh, WOW!!" factor working on their lizard brains. I believe without any facts at all that the other destinations anywhere attract more veteran mongers who know what the deal is. I mean would anybody here as a rookie just testing the mongering waters commit multi-kilo bucks and all the travel time to get to, say, the Ukraine or SE Asia? Doubtful.

Again, I think Jazzbo nailed it. Maybe it's CR's close proximity to the US, cheap airfares and big spenders coming down for shorter trips. On my first trip, I found that many guys knew a lot less about CR than I did. I made sure that I was well educated (thanks to bros at CRT) BEFORE my plane even arrived.

Yes, I agree with all of you guys. Its true the Philippines Islands are very far away. Subic was my "home port" during the Viet Nam war, and I had a great time with the girls. Nothing has changed. Actually the prices are about the same now as they were forty two years ago. I had the time of my life there. I took a girl "Island hopping for a week". Although obviously I had to pay her way and pay for all her meals and drinks, all she really asked for in addition were things like toothpast, shampoo, and other personal items. I did let her go on a shopping spree in the duty free zone at the old Clark AFB. She wound up buying a bikini, high heeled shoes, a purse, some make-up, two short skirts, two halter tops, some bras and thongs, and a cute jacket. I wound up paying about a hundred US for her shopping spree I couldn't believe it, I thought I was into it for at least three or four hundred. What a deal, non stop sex for seven days. It got to the point where I tried to find excuses to not be in bed. In the end I gave her fifty bucks, and a good buy kiss, with a promise to return. Even stranger I ran into an old shipmate in Manila who I hadn't seen since the war. He lives in a high rise condo with a beautiful view of the harbor, and has a chinese girlfriend. We are going to a combat vets reunion April 26th in Reno Nevada.

Neil, now you got me thinking about da PI again..LOL I had the best times of my life in early 80's Subic while in the USN. Ah the memories. I'd like to go back but with the long expensive flight and all that shit, I think I'll keep going to CR for a while. With that said, I'm sure PI's still a good time but nothing can compare to the times we had on Magsaysay diba?

Neil very good question, I have voted with my feet and will only go to CR two times a year now, things are just spiralling down in a freefall there an all fronts....except the prices that is, fat chumpy girls asking 100 WTF????? no thanks the prevalence of 50%+ FATTYS AND FUGLYS in the DR have just ruined it all and the think they are hot???? WTF????.

OK...let me see....I live 15 minutes from SJ by taxi. My taste in chicas is quite good as many members here can attest.I NEVER pay more than 30,000 col. plus taxi fare for a couple of hours. I've noticed the quality at the DR and SL has improved quite a bit lately. CR has probably the best variety of chicas of anywhere mongering is available. Sure there are "fatties" but who said you have to take them. I defy anyone to show up at the DR any Thursday,F riday or Saturday nights after 9pm and tell me they don't have a constant hard-on checking out the chicas.I also have pretty good Chinese food available. Hanging with the guys at the DR and SL just enhances the whole experience.

So someone please tell me why I should spend over $1500 to sit on a plane for 26 hours to bang Asian girls.

I think most of the SEA guys like going there because they either served over there during the Vietnam war or were stationed in the area (Clarke, Subic, Japan, etc.) after the war, and just like Rambo, that's their "home" and they keep going back to what's familar and comforting. I think that you may be somewhat right about this. I have went to the Philippines and Thailand each twice over the last year and a half and each time I considered it a nostalgic trip to revisit where I lived as a young sailor guy. I spent three years in the Philippines and spent three years touring the Pacific on the beautiful USS Midway.

Yes, once again I agree with all the comments. The flight is expensive and very long. What makes it work is staying awhile. I was there five weeks, and paying an average thirty bucks a night for nice rooms. I also met some of the greatest people from Austraila, Germany, and the UK. Also one of the reasons that I was there was for the Diving, which was great. It was the first time that I was able to enjoy diving and all the girls at the same time. BTW the flight back to S.F. was non-stop and took twelve hours. I'm hoping to get back down to C.R. sometime in May. In the mean time bang some for me.

Can anyone give me some info on renting an apartment for a month somewhere near Bario Amon? San Pedro or Sabana Norte would be ok to.
