Why are there so many irrelevant, non-religion questions in R&S (introduced by...

..."spiritually speaking) when....? .....the posters would get more replies (as well as avoid removal) in the relevant Y.A. category?

For example, here's yet another "evaluate my looks and tell me who I should date" question just posted minutes ago:

Occasionally people are unaware that they posted to the wrong category but it is clear that with questions like this one, people often deliberately post their irrelevant question to R&S. Do similar phenomena appear in the political category or other popular forums?

Is some other factor (beyond silliness) at work with these strange postings?

Chill out, Some are for fun and I think needed in a very series section.

Well, first of all, people may ask unrelated questions here because they want answers from the group that visits this section, and if they asked the questions in a different category, people from here might not see them. This isn't just a random site; it's a community of people that has developed over the last four or five years. A lot of us have friends here and we tend to gravitate towards this section whether our questions actually deal with religion or not.

Besides that... well, why shouldn't we post a few off-topic questions once in a while? It's all in fun.

In my opinion there may very well be other factors involved. For example simple NON - COOPERATION. I can think of others. Being human means that those who feel insecure in certain environments MUST TEST THE LIMITS of what they can do. I can think of circumstances in which I too might feel the need to test the limits. Poor impulse control is another symptom of immaturity.

The desire to have an audience witness their inappropriate behavior is too much to handle for certain juvenile, shall we say "minds." If we are totally honest with ourselves as humans, we must admit that the TEMPTATION to misbehave is ALWAYS PRESENT. What separates mere children from more mature behavior is something called D-I-S-C-I-P-L-I-N-E.

This is one of the few popular sections containing adults or adult like people. Posting in the "singles and dating" section would result in answers from teenagers who don't know jack. And posting in the "polls and surveys" section would result in getting answers about Kim Kardashian and Justin Bieber.

Because it's not 'Religion', it's 'Religion and Spirituality', and spirituality is not the same thing as religion. Spirituality pertains to matters of knowing one's own spirit or knowing oneself, and sometimes oneself is a little silly.
