Why cant sex work be legalized in every society

Why do people have this irrational hatred and fear of sex work and massage parlors?

Some justify their opposition using religious and moral grounds
Other justify it on grounds that its exploitation of women

Yet all these grounds can easily be refuted. Your morals are your own and cannot be imposed on others.
And not all prostitutes are kidnapped, trafficked and enslaved. Most are working of their own will.


So why is society so against sex work and tries to demonize the men who pay for sex?

Try to understand that not every man is good looking enough to attract regular women for sex.
Some men are good looking, have nice bodies and can attract women in bars, clubs thru online dating, have flings, affairs, casual sex, Friends-with-Benefits etc with women in their social circle. Others are not good looking and their only option is to pay for it until they get married. It is a very basic human desire to have sex and share physical intimacy.

Why cant society, instead of looking down upon such men, instead of branding them as perverts, sick individuals understand this reality?

I totally agree with you alin5. I would even go so far to say that if more women would give their men what they want/need then the amount of sex workers needed would naturally decline. But both men and women are guilty of selfish and destructive behavior so things will be status quo for a long time. We're so hung up on sex and nudity in this country it's sickening. What you say about unattractive men might be true but I think that for every Shrek there's a Fiona just waiting for him. Maybe those men's expectations need adjustment. Guys you may think with your dick but it doesn't mean you need to act like one!

To be honest it should be because then it would be regulated and girls would be tested, places would be cleaner. It is going to go on whether it is legal or not so why don't governments make it legal then they can tax them all lol.

Altough I do agree with your point in general.
I would look at it from a different perspective however, if you look at the countries that see most of the sex work, they are either poor countries, where sex work is done by poor locals, getting money from rich tourists and desperate men; or rich countries using poor imports, pleasing the rich locals.

When I say rich I mean "European" rich.

If yu for instance look at the UAE or other middle eastern countries, most women are imported from Asia under the pretenses of becoming house workers or massage therapists. They are charged huge sums as brokerage fees to ship them there and in most cases work for free 1 or 2 years before they can start making money. They are often forced to play along with the game, but all dream for better tomorrows, in which case, they are stuck in a country that will give them no support if they get in trouble;

With travelling around the world I have learned one thing in the region, The law doesnt have to make sense. This counts especially for Sharia Law.
If these women get raped, stabbed, or abused during their course of work, they can not report anything or they go to jail for having sex outside of marriage. So in most cases they remain silent. After they have paid their dues and are able to work freely, most of these women go into the night trade for us mongers, putting on a brave fae, a happy dress and entice men to other acts because they can not live on a simple massage parlor salary.

In Asian countries, these women have (almost) no education, no job prospects and no natural means to make a living (except this one), so offering "extras" for them is a ways to ensure they can feed the family.

Dont get me wrong, I am not preaching from my soap boax, I would not be on this forum if I was... But I do take into account these things. In general, I take an interest in talking to my service providers (altough in general, all therepists lie) and keep in mind the conditions they work in. I tip according to these conditions. It takes a few times to find out the truth, but on a whole I find that a much more satisfying visit that just a slam-bam-thank-you-mam.

But as a general statement, the sex work trade should be a choice, not banned by law.

Those societies that legalize obviously reflect different morals than the rest. Kind of hard to justify why all countries should operate the same ways given that people are different everywhere.

So below-average guys have to resort to paying money? Seems like some kind of double-standard either way, since those same guys would want beautiful girls anyway; below-average girls probably can't choose that industry even if they wanted to.
