Why Does My Facebook Chat Not Work? Must have something to do with my profile?

So im sitting at work watching my friend chat away on Facebook just fine, he presses enter and messages go out. I try the same thing and all it does is leave the message "Sending" in my pop-up, and after 15-20 minutes maybe it will send. Also if people try to chat with me or respond to one of my infrequently successful chats, it wont be immediate. If I refresh the page 5-6 attempted chats might....pop up on my screen.

This is not a block by facebook admins, or laggy internet (my friend on the same connection being able to chat disproves that), nor is it a slow computer issue (the problem persists on the school computers, as well as my home PC).
The only thing I can assume is that its some kind of Facebook application unique to my profile that interferes with chatting, but i've never heard of anyone else having this problem with any other app.

Any Ideas?
 
Facebook chat is just buggy as hell. It does that to everyone.. What I do is just refresh the webpage all the time.. Like once a minute.. And everytime you send something and it just says "Sending" Refresh it and it'll send, but sometimes it'll send twice for some stupid reason.. Its annoying as hell.
