Why girls don't chat with boys after adding them up on facebook ?

I always wonder why girls do this? First they add up boys on facebook and then they don't chat with them when they come online?. Is this some kind of game the girls play or what? I really can't figure it out. Plz explain it to me if someone knows the answer.

If I add a guy, I don't chat with him because I don't want to seem creepy or over enthusiastic. I might wait a week or so to talk to him when he comes online. (But if that guy started talking to me on Facebook I'd definitely respond)

some girls add guys because either
1. That's all they can do, they don't have the guts to actually speak to them.
2. They may add them too look at photos or maybe to show off to their friends.
or
3. Just to have more friends

but if it bugs you speak to them

Maybe it's the fact that they don't consider you a "friend", but just added you for the hell of it? Not that hard to understand mate.
