Why won't my boyfriend introduce me to his family?

We're both 24, have been together for almost 2 years. At first it was pretty casual - he likes to be alone a lot, and I've done my best not to push him in the hope that something more serious would come out of it, which it has. I see him/stay at his house almost every other night now and he's gradually starting to include me in more things. But he still won't introduce me to his family - every time I bring it up he changes the subject or just ignores it. He's close with his parents, and I know that they know about me - but what does that mean if after 2 years he still won't introduce me to them?

It could be because you are not the choice of girl that his parent's want for him. It could be because he lied to you about his parent’s knowing that he's involved with you. Maybe he never told his parents but led you on thinking that they know about you. It could be because he's already involved with someone else and dating you at the same time. It could be that he's married but only separated from his wife and never told you. There could be a thousand reasons why your boyfriend is keeping you from meeting his parent's. You need to talk to him. You need to tell him that you don't take this changing the subject every time you ask about meeting his parent's. Tell him that if he does not want to introduce you to his parent's that you will pay his parent’s a visit and that you are going to introduce you to them yourself. And watch the expression on his face. Your boyfriend can be close to his parent's but there is something fishy about him not wanting you to meet them. Your boyfriend needs to come clean with you. You have been together for 2 years and there is no reason why you should not meet his parent's. Your boyfriend is keeping a secret from you and you and I think after being together for 2 years then you have a right to know what is going on and you should get to the bottom of it.

.....Dear hoodles, this may be more serious than you might think. I think that if a guy really likes a girl and intends to continue dating her and get serious that he would want his family to meet her. It's kind of a part of the whole dating process, meeting the parents eventually. It's been almost two years. It's way past time to meet the parents. I think you should just tell him that you think it's time to meet his parents and if he won't do it then it's time to dump him and move on with your life.
