Why would a guy go straight up to your parents and introduce his self,

without you having the chance to do it? I hung out with the guy that likes me, I like him too we've both said so. We've been just hanging out together and getting to know each other again, not in a rush. We were playing pool and Foosball for almost an hour and half. My parents came home and when he saw them he went up straight up to them and introduced himself, gave a good handshake as my parents said. I didn't get the chance to introduce him cause he did it right away. Why would a guy do this? Is it his own way of showing that he's responsible or showing that he is a good guy? Did he do this to show that he would be a good boyfriend to their daughter?
