Hi all, hope everyone is well.

I'd like everyone's individual opinion on a query I have please.

I would like to do the A & P and Holistic massage Diploma that West London School of Therapeutic Massage offer and am wondering if any members here can recommend them or let me know of the standard they thought of this or any other courses they run. It seems a lot to cram into 6 days and I would like to know if anyone can vouch for them.

If you have not already done a therapy related course then I would personally think that six days, I take it that is the amount of time you spend receiving hands on experience and you do the head work in your own time, then that might not be enough to make you competent you may need a better course.

I agree. Unless you already have some a and p knowledge, it would be a bit much.

Where are you?

Middlesex School are based in Northwood and they do courses, is that any good for you?

I think you need to read between the lines on the WLSTM info. This is an ITEC qualification and although they offer a six day course, it does not say that you will be competent to sit the ITEC exam after 6 days. If you want the ITEC diploma that they are offering, you still have to do the case studies, which amount to approx 40hrs outside college and all their assignments. A course which covers the whole of the syllabus in only 6 days (42hrs) falls well under ITEC's guided learning ours (100hrs). They do say that they support your learning with evening classes, but will they cover what you need to know, on the night you attend??

Unless you know your A&P and already have massage experience, I would personally stay clear and find a course that gives you the correct hours of tutoring and allows you time to digest what you have learned.

Sorry to put a downer on it, but there are many other schools in London that offer the ITEC course, why cram it all into 6 days?

A good friend of mine just did the course with them and she loved it. She has exam in January I think so I'll let you know how she did. I dont think its worse or better just different style of learning for people with less time maybe. It works for some people and doesn't for others.

Thanks for all the opinions and tips everyone. As I live in Shepherds Bush just down the road from WLSTM, and have a job I can not take too much time away from, I think I'm gonna do it with them and only do the exam in the future after gaining extensive hands on experience and only when I feel confident.

Any other contibutions on the topic is welcome.
