A woman who said her massage therapist sexually abused her during her visit is suing the business where he worked.
Pazetive Aurelius Redwood, 34, has pleaded not guilty to third-degree sexual abuse in connection with the alleged encounter on Dec. 23, 2019. He is accused of masturbating during the massage at Zama Massage in Northeast Portland.
An acquaintance of Redwood’s told a detective that Redwood had confessed to masturbating during a client session and admitted it wasn’t the first time, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.
Now police are seeking information from people who may have further information on the case or other potential victims.
“He said he did it because he was aroused by the power differential,” Multnomah County Deputy District Attorney Todd T. Jackson wrote in the affidavit. “He did not think he could trust himself not to do it again.”
The customer reported hearing “excited breathing” and learned that Redwood had ejaculated on the sheet used to cover her body, according to the affidavit. Portland police submitted the sheet to the state crime lab, which determined the stain was from semen, according to Jackson.
Police obtained a DNA swab from Redwood and his DNA matched the DNA profile from the semen stain, the affidavit said.
Redwood, of Portland, has denied wrongdoing. He also uses the name Jeffrey Marc Wilson and is a student at Portland State University with no prior criminal record, according to court documents.
The client suing is identified in the lawsuit by a pseudonym. She has accused Zama Massage of sexual battery. The business manager did not return email or phone messages.
The suit, filed in Multnomah County Circuit Court by Mark McDougal of Kafoury & McDougal law firm, seeks noneconomic damages of up to $1.5 million.
Police ask if anyone has information about this case or other cases to contact the Police Bureau’s non-emergency line at 503-823-3333.
