Women and Makeups

I am not against makeup, but I've found many women who could look more beautiful with less makeup on. I think the best is when it's applied judiciously and is not very evident.

I could never understand women who apply too much and it looks very, very ugly (especially when they make those lines around eyes). Are there men who really fall for such cheap tricks?

I agree that less makeup is much more attractive to me. Bright lipstick has to be the most ugly thing ever invented.

Very few women know how to apply makeup correctly and they seem to teach each other their bad habits.

Less is always better in this regard.

This all goes back to do people dress for themselves or for others and there's no wrong answer here.

I agree, less is better.

It takes a professional make up artist to do it right and they get well compensated for that skill. As guys, we get to see the flaws in a different light and from a different angle. Most women get a fail mark at the limits of their viewpoint, especially the jawline or chin. Nothing looks worse than that mask look with a prominent line along the chin. If you use heavy makeup the fault line is more obvious. I've done a couple of portfolios and when discussing it with the women and they say they can do their own makeup ( to save money obviously) to which I say what do they plan to use for ''tungsten lighting'. After the guaranteed response of 'wha', I explain what it is and they accept the advise. Even outdoors is different. Most women don't even bother changing their look from time and night time. Hang around a few fashion shows and observe.

In the thread involving beautiful women of any age the best looking women are the ones that don't look like raccoons or wax dummies.



Nothing makes me shake my head and cry more than seeing cute women wearing stage makeup, mostly because it's 'in'.

Bliss: a guy doesn't have to know how to properly apply makeup to know when it is done wrong....just like a guy doesn't have to know how to do a boob job to know when it is done wrong.

I agree here, too many women "think" they know what they're doing and few do. Really, don't be insulted bliss, not one of us has seen you live so you could be one of the few. Once again, we bring up something about women and one comes along all offended?

Can someone please explain that phenomena? I mean hell, guys get insulted all the time and we don't all come on here all offended because a woman said Guys are assholes......

The problem being is you can't say anything about it for fear of 14 days of irritating sighs and terse answers.

Personally, I take all kinds of "appearance" advise from women. If a beautiful woman says to me: Trim your goatee a little more, and I want her to think I'm hot, I'll trim the fricken goatee! I remember a LONG time ago a really hot woman said to me: you look good in black so I started wearing more of it, and over the years I've gotten more compliments while wearing it than at other times.

Nothing wrong with a little advise.....

there are times I think I look like sexy as hell with my make up . then I get outside and see myself in a window or something and scare the shit out of myself..lol.
there are times when I dont wear any make up and think I look like shit and get hit on like crazy..lol
I think sexy comes from confidence not the make up.. just my 2 cents .. hehe

Well, you just proved the theory in this thread: guys don't like lot's of makeup! (hence why you get hit on sans warpaint).

There was this one yl I used to work with, she had NO clue how to apply the paint. She was a tomboyish type (ultimate frisbee) and rarely wore it and looked pretty nice without it. So one night after work all the ladies were going on a bender and she came out of the bathroom with EEEEEK holy crap, looked like a 10 yr old put it on....

I guess one of the other ladies said something because about a week later she went out to lunch with a co-worker and went over to sherway gardens....when she got back...YOWZA she wasn't just nice looking, she was HOT......I never saw her with the paint on again before I left but that's the difference between doing it, and doing it right.

I watch Look-a-like sometimes and the makeup guy, he's an artist. There was one who looked like Jennifer Aniston anyways but when he was done? OMFG. And she sounded like her too...oh man, the lucky dog to be banging Jenn lol.....

Not to say I know anything but one thing I have learned? Only use the same brands together, and all from the same pallette. No big broad colour or tonal differences. Then blend like an SOB. I SO hate it when you see a woman with two big red blotches on her cheeks with a distinct line where the rouge stopped. Gawd that's ugly....

Are you telling me you've never chided a guy about wearing white socks with sandals? Or mismatched socks? or the way he's dressed? I have yet to meet a woman who has never had something to say about some of the way guys are.....

I dress and wear make up to make others in my life happy. Their opinion means the world to me. I'm not ashamed of that. It's my way of showing them respect. It also helps I only keep people close to me who respect me.

tboy, if Brash wanted to look like a clown, so what, his choice. I do shop with Brash when he buys clothing, he likes my input. Anyway if you feel the need to be what others want you to be and not yourself then that is you.
