Working for Hospital

Does anyone have any thoughts regarding working in a health care setting?  A local hospital in this area is thinking of hiring a part-time or full-time therapist for $22 per visit, which includes benefits.  I know the benefits are worth something, but I'm thinking $22 sounds low, as it is per visit instead of per hour.  Does anyone know if per visit payment is standard for health care settings???  Also, any recommendation on doing a split as an independent contractor?

You might ask them how long a visit lasts.  Just thinking about my personal experiences in hospitals as a patient, I don't see them offering a full hour massage.  There would more than likely be shorter sessions for the majority of the patients... like pre & post surgery and illness  the body wouldn't be able to handle a typical hour session.  If they don't seem to have an answer for you, give them one.  Askwhat kind of patients you would be working with  out patient cardiac rehab or what.  Then based on that answer tell them what you think, based on your education, the sessions should last.  You will probably find that the patient type varies... even better for you tell them you want to be able to make the decision with that patients nurse/doctor prior to each session to determine the length.Hope it works out for you!  I love to hear about massage being offered in hospitals.
