World Reflexology Week 2007

Hi all

I've had a quick look online to see when WRW will be this year, as our AoR Area Group would like to do another event. Last year we did taster treatments and raised £200 for our local hospice. It was a really fun day and of course it made the hospice very happy too!

I am double checking with the AoR, but it looks as though WRW will be 23-29 September 2007. I will post back again if this is not correct.

Anyone else doing anything to mark WRW and raise the profile of reflexology?

Yes I have just looked at this a few days ago and i think those dates are correct.
I have just mentioned it on my website and offered 'Buy 2 treatments get the 3rd FREE' to celebrate Reflexology week. Hope this will get some bookings.
I have called my local Willowbrook Hospice and offered my services for FREE and they turned me down!! HUH!! Why!!
I said I would come in for the day for FREE and help the elderly with any relaxation techniques. They said they already have a reflexologist on their books as a member on their payroll!
What more can I do! I am giving it away and they don't want it ! It knocked my confidence for 6 and then I dusted myself off and thought I will ask someone else!
I will update you on what I decide to do. Maybe just my daughters local school and run a fundraising event on a weekend.

How frustrating for you! But great at the same time that they have a reflexologist... There will be a place for you somewhere. Schools round this area are always having therapy type events , they have really taken off.

WRW is indeed 23-29 Sept for anyone out there planning to do something. Happily, it coincides with the Macmillan Great Big Coffee Morning (not sure that's 100% correct but you know what I mean) on 28 September, so I see scope for some really fun coffee mornings with reflexology thrown in! What could be nicer than putting your feet up with a cuppa?

Hiya

It would be great to share some ideas for this event. It may be that some of us are wanting to do something but are not sure where to start.
I for one have no idea what to do. Apart from offering clients on my site maybe a 50% discount or even 50% goes to a charity of their choice or for the Big Coffee Morning event.
Any suggestions? Any plans for this week in September?

Hi, i have been tring to look into world reflexology week as it sounds a great ider, i am a member of FHT does anyone know if FHT do world reflexology week? or can any reflexologist get involved in world reflexology week??

I did an event last year for it in my local shopping centre. it was exhausting, didn't make lots of money (approx £100) for the local hospice. the publicity that was supposed to happen didn't, and although spoke to some lovely people will not be doing it again.
