After a nearly year-long investigation into human trafficking, Worthington police executed a search warrant Tuesday at the Asia Good Luck Massage Spa on W. Dublin-Granville Rd in Linworth.

Sgt. Jim Moran said they have probable cause to believe the two women found inside were being forced to engage in sexual activity. Moran said evidence collected at the scene supports the belief that the women were living inside the building and were not able to come and go of their own free will.

At nearby Up-Towne flowers, James Spurrell grew suspicious soon after the massage parlor opened last summer. “They’re open 13 hours a day, seven days a week - which I don’t know any massage parlor that ever does that...any legitimate one,” Spurrell said.

Spurrell says the women never left the building. “They have handlers that come and bring food -usually a big burly guy with a Chinese lady that bring food into them.”

Sgt. Moran said the victims will be well cared for.

“Their world just got turned upside down,” Moran said. “Everything they probably own in the world was probably in that building and as much as we could, we let them take it with them.”

Moran said what happens next for the victims will be up to them. “If they want to pursue citizenship, we can go down that road,” Moran said.

“A lot of it depends on them. A lot of them decide they want nothing to do with the process and they just want to go home and we’ll help facilitate that too - wherever home is,” said Moran.

Moran says no arrests were made today but investigators do have people of interest who are suspected of running the operation. Moran says with the evidence collected today, police will now aggressively pursue that part of the investigation.

“It’s disgusting and the people who perpetuate it and perpetrate it, as far as I’m concerned - prison would be treating them kind and I’m thoroughly disgusted we even have to do investigations like this,” said Moran.
