Ahh, well I don't really know where to start. I really have no idea about how growing pains work, but my roommate (and best friend basically) is 16 years old and has been apparently getting them real bad. I moved here to Canada from the US about 3 and a half weeks ago and he always came home sore. I do think he might be overtraining though and overworking himself, he has school from 9-3, goes to the gym 3:30-4:30, and then works at a warehouse which is basically just manual labor from 5-11, and is home by 11:30; and at that time he's just about "done" and then we get 1 hour to relax together watching tv.and I give him some TLC before bed(he lives on his own because his parents are nutcases)I feel His traps and shoulders and they are always stiff and feel tensed and then he says his calves feel like a "burn" feeling.some nights I have a hot bath ready for him when he gets home and that seems to help.
He's 5'9 about 187lbs muscular build(quite over-developed). What are the best things I can do for helping 'growing pains"and the soreness he gets in his muscles and the whole thing about if he's over working hismelf or not?I often rub his legs when he gets home, but would massaging him be better? I dont' really remember getting that when I was his age, and I'm 30. Thanks! He eats bananas too lol I make him eat them since they have potassium.
