Hi, I know someone who thinks he has a mild case of aspergers syndrome (his own diagnosis) & has an alcohol problem. He hasn't had any drink for 7 months but prior to this hehad an unhealthy relationship with alcohol: if was on a night out it would always last until 6am the following morning 3-6 x a month& if he was unable to stay out all night i.e. he went out with his parents, it would happen later in the week as he felt he had to 'finish the job off'. He also finds it hard to 'lighten up' & has a tendency to get angry/offensivewhen frustratedwithout seeing the bigger picture.
I recently learnt that when his mum was pregnant with him she had a lot of health problems and had to have an operation during which time he was exposed, whilst still in the amniotic sac, as the surgeons had to work on her abdomen. I feel this may go some way to explaining some of his problems.
I have had wonderful results with acupuncture in the past so recommended it but perhaps it has different sucess rates on different people? At any rate, it would be interesting to hear your thoughts.
Thanks
