Would this be a good way to introduce myself to a girl?

Theres this girl ive seen around campus that is absolutely adorable and i really want to get to know her....I asked a question on here about what i should do and i got some good answers....What im wondering now is exactly what i should say....Should i walk up and tell her my name and tell her that ive seen her around and i wanted to meet her? How should i get her number? and most importantly....how do i find out if she has a boyfriend? lol Heres one thing i thought about....What if i expressed interest in getting know her and told her my name and everything and got her name and chit chatted a bit. Then i could add her on facebook and im sure her page would say if she was in a relationship or not lol Yea that sounds weird to me but ive never had to just introduce myself to a random girl that ive never met lol. So what should i do? Give be as detailed of an answer as you can cause that'll help the most! Thanks!
