I am due to see a client tonight - Pregnant almost 37 weeks - she wants reflexology - I have just had to cancel as my 3 year old keeps vomitting and not even keeping fluids down. I would feel awful if whatever he has (a bug say) was passed on through me onto her whilst I toucher her feet. He has been sick since 11 am this morning and I do not feel comfortable seeing her tonight. I think I would have cancelled anyway but especially as she is so far into her pregnancy.
Do you think I did the right thing - instinct tells me I did.
I would never forgive myself if she started vomitting and it was detrimental to labour, her health or her baby.

Absolutely spot on I think in cancelling you put the client first and acted ethically and I am sure that you will be paid back ten fold!!

In my opinion you have to put your family first, that your son has a tummy bug, you have to be there for him and also totally understand how you feel with regard to your client. I would feel the same, what if?? These tummy bugs seem to go through the household in some way. You did the right thing and I am sure the lady will understand. Tracy, I have read your posts here and I think you are a very professional therapist.

You did the right thing. It might not be too late next week to give her a treatment and hopefully your little son will be well over his bug.

Hi all
Thank you for your posts and also to Enchantedhands for your kind words. My little boy is still quite sick - he was at the docs last night at 11pm and as usual they say its a 'virus'! He is eating then being ill, drinking then being ill, so he wants to eat and drink but his little tummy won't let him! He keeps holding his little 'winky' so I wonder if he has a water infection. I will try to get more fluids down him hopefully he can wee out the infection that way. I hate to see him sick it is worrying and of course it scares him too.
Bless - I bet this time next week it will all be over hopefully.
