Wow - Nov 1 return of the BGs?

I confess, I am a lurker - I frequently log into the MTB webcam just to overcome the withdrawal symptoms.

Through October, there were perhaps 4 or 5 girls (usually the same ones) at the bar - but tonite, there were about a dozen!

A question to the locals - did you see the buses pulling in yesterday chock full of BGs?

(This is like the swallows returning to San Juan Capistrano.)

Yep the Pattani Coaches...2 or 3 full of newbies fresh off the farm...arrive direct from Udon Thani every weekend and park in the road behind Jungceylon. High Season is coming and the bars are stocking up.

Who runs these Bar Girl Farms? Can you access these girls at source? I guess they go from the farm to Bar Girl school... and then onto the buses? Be good to meet them before the buses...

You might not want to meet them on the farm. Have you ever seen a BG's ID card. It seems to be the picture of them before a visit to a beauty salon.

They are not happy to show it most times I've asked.

Hmm,

In the past, some of the more timid BGs start out in Karon/Kamala - then work their way up to Patong.

Not always true, and there are far more new BGs than the southern beaches can accomodate.

When I was there last week a bar owner mentioned to me that he had 10 new girls starting in the next week for the high season.

When you live here you can tell when the high season is close by the number of times girls you've known for a long time ask you because you jai dee to "break in" one of their friends who is here for the first time. Had it TWICE in the past month. Did succumb to one of them. It's the least you can do to help out a friend in need.

was there in oct for 3 weeks and there was at least 10 to 12 at mai thai bar every night i was there

I can only go by the field of view from the webcam - there's 3-4 girls with white shirts (bartenders I suppose - I didn't include them in the count), the blond girl with tats on back (usually up on the gogo pole tends to wear white) another blond (tends to wear black), and 2 or 3 other girls.

Still, good to know they are preparing for peak season (4 days till I get there!), there seems to be a lot more in the cam view area now.

I did wonder where all the BG's appeared from in high season... the buses might make for quite a sight.

TBH what's been described doesnt really happen, BG's dont have a calender with Nov 1st crossed off and the bus ticket booked

Sure a lot go home for periods during low season but not usually for 6 months, they will come and go usually as money dictates or family requirements such as planting and cutting rice and sugar cane

Very few turn up in big groups unless it has been sponsored by a bar and there has been a recruitment drive

Sure more and more will arrive as high season gets underway but its not something you are gonna notice over night

Its a bleed in of course. Not the mass influx on a set date agreed.

But the bar recruitment drive and groups arriving because the bar owners misses has been calling up north.. Thats fairly obvious.

Maybe I am getting old and cranky.. But some posts salivating at the prospect of farm fresh girls just set my meter into overdrive.
