Yonge & Major Mack

Good morning, all.

Evidently, there is a new place on the west side of Yonge Street north of Major Mackenzie -- I believe it goes by the name Sensations and it is located on the second floor of an old (well, old for Richmond Hill) building. Does anyone have any information on this place? (By the way, I am not referring to the Q2 Energy Spa -- the one with the spray-painted sign, I kid you not -- just down the road on the east side of Yonge.)

(Alas, I'm afraid A-cups don't turn my crank, so to speak, so it would be good to know if anyone has come across a more ample attendant here.) Thanks again.

Thanks again, ClownBoy. Yes, there seems to be two Q2 Energy places. Any visits to these establishments? They seem a bit weird to me -- promoting hot stone therapy or something like that. Can't quite peg those places.

I think massage places that offer "hot stone therapy" and stuff like that are LEGIT. So don't go in unless you are looking to be thrown out on your ass.

Fair enough, Jack. It's just that these 2 establishments look a bit dodgy; certainly they do not look like high-end legitimate spas that would typically offer hot stone therapy, thus the rationale for my query. Have you seen the locales in question?

I can take a look if I drive by... but I know most of the buildings in that area are old. Hence the appearance you may interpret as "dodgy". For example I went to an RMT on Yonge a block south of major mac. But it was completely legit. There are legit RMT's operating outta older buildings... but they're not MP's.

Sorry if I sound over protective... I just don't want nice RMT's to be faced with people looking for MPA services... because it can "traumatize" them.

No apology needed and I totally agree with you. I, too, fully respect the therapeutic skills of legit RMTs and would never ask for "extras" from such professionals. All the same, if you are ever in the area, do check out these two places, Jack, and give me your opinion as to whehter you think they are legitimate. Thanks.

Thanks again, Clown Boy. Just so I understand, these attendants actually do some legit hot stone therapy and then not so legit other therapy -- is this right? And, finally, worth the visit vis-a-vis the "hidden gem" factor? Thank you again.

Thanks, ClownBoy. But you raise an interesting question when you use the term "standard" ... just how is it the $40/$80/$120 pricing structure is so prevelant? It's not like there is a massage parlour marketing board that sets prices. Or is it just that this is what the free market economy dictates? I wonder how the GTA pricing structure compares to other Canadian cities and U.S. cities (and abroad.) If only government funding was available for such a fact-finding mission ...

You will find it on the east side of Yonge Street, one traffic light north of Major Mack. I think the address is 10119 Yonge (or at least in the 10,000 block.) It is next door to a barber shop and it has a sign in the window that reads "Free parking and private entracne at rear." Hope this helps.

be just me but isn't it ironic to have a post regarding this area of the GTA by someone called Mel N Choly. Just thought it sorta funny, others could have other feelings.

Wonder if there are any ghosts in that old fantasia building.

Grizzledvet, I must confess I moved to the area in 1998 and while the notorious Fantasia was operating back then, I never stepped foot in the place -- just never got around to it and I guess I always assumed it would always be there. Then one day -- poof, boarded up (followed by a huge fire.) I understand this place was legendary, but alas, I only receive the info second hand. D'oh, indeed!
