It all depends on what you like. Do your research and call some massage therapists. I'm just joshin' ya!
The best thing about being an MP is...uhhh...hmmm...I'll get back with you.
The worst thing about doing massage is charging deluded clients and ripping off insurance companies for quackery that has never been proven to work. I don't even get massage because it doesn't work for me. The more I learn the more I'm ashamed by what I do.
The schools teach nothing but lies - research shows massage results in absolutely no measurable physical changes. It doesn't increase circulation, remove lactic acid, or decrease stress hormones. It does absolutely nothing except act as a placebo. It deserves no respect as a legitimate therapy and should not be covered by any insurance plan.
I guess you could say MPs are in the business of selling expensive sugar pills for a living. What a scam.
I'm not surprised that no one has called you back. It's pretty standard lack of basic professional skills in my experience. Most don't make a lot of money, either, because you can't work that many hours in a week. And median wage and salary hourly earnings of massage therapists, including gratuities, were $16.06 in May 2006. I earn a lot more, but it's not worth it at all.
