Its odd, but since the renovations it seems the place has gone down hill. Drink prices are nuts, and the talent seems to be getting worse and worse. On a good note, some of the cigar prices have come down. I still don't understand the hours which seem to be random.

I was at the new HLH for the first time since the renovation and name change in March. I have always been a big fan of the place and always made it my main point of operations when I'm in CR. I think the CRT party in 2005 that was at Zona Blue was the best one of three I have been at. I hate to admit it but the really cool vibe the place had which kept me going back was gone. There were a bunch of new girls who were all good looking enough but somehow it wasn't the same.

I have a theory on why that may be. I had done a session and was waiting for my friend to arrive that night so I had the whole afternoon to kill. I decided to get a real nice buzz on. I was there for six hours and at some point in that time one of the girls (not the one I sessioned with) kind of latched on to me - in a good way. She got a nice buzz on and started dancing and I'm telling you she was a very very sexy dancer.

At one point I told her to get up and dance on the bar to which she just pointed at the video camera over the bar. In the U.S. any bar that wants to get a reputation as a fun place to hang out (which is pretty much every bar) would let any girl that wanted to dance on the bar. Its just good business .

This girl told me a few stories about Eduardo and the woman that manages the girls and their long list of rules. I'm sure it is hard to manage all those crazy chicas but my theory is that they have gone too far and taken the life out of the place... Thats at least part of it I think. If it was as fun as it use to be I don't think anyone would give a !@#$ about the drink prices IMHO

Let me tell you, i used to work in the bar business. No, most bars will *NOT* let girls dance on the bar anymore. The ones that did got busted for health code violations, OSHA violations, or someone slipped and got hurt and their insurance company put an end to it.

Except for rare exceptions, that just doesn't go on anymore.

Yeah, I stop in from time to time, especially to pick up some Cubans, but I never thought it was that big of deal. And I think Pam & Lorena just make too much of a show of themselves. It's almost contrived.

Seems much slower since the re-opening, but am sure some of that is due to the economy and less tourism. I continue to go in there, and while there are many new girls, I have still generally found the experience quite satisfying. Granted, it is not as fun as the old days, but I like the new bar and still feel comfortable hanging out even if I decided not to session.

My opinion is that Eddie wants to operate his hotel a little more under the radar.

There is a lot of talk among the older local Barrio Amon residents that BA has become a destination for sex tourism and they don't like their old coffee baron image going in that direction.

I think he is smart to operate in a low key manor and not create a lot of news...good or bad.
And also don't underestimate the power and influence of the Tico and his desire for pu*sy from all the places mentioned on this site from 6th street to IDEM, Relax, SL, DR and the rest...they have money and aren't afraid to spend it.

On the bright side, the ZB?HLH really rocks...granted not every minute of every day, but what place does

I think this is a right-on statement. I think under the radar is the smart play given current events. I too still have good times, even with the change in talent. However, I do find that I session less there that I did just a year ago. I enjoy the comfort of this place and will continue to go there to connect with like-minded individuals and chicas until I am told I no longer can!

I think you may be correct. But then again why spend the money he has on renovations if it doesn't attract more business? A few permanent gringos told me LHL was on the market. I have no idea if that is true but it does sound plausible since the place looks like a ghost town when you go in there. :?

Since I'm an old fart I find the BLASTING house music really annoying. Seems out of place with a total of maybe six people (including chicas and customers) and makes it very hard to have a conversation with anyone. :shock: :roll: :?

I agree with the statement of the music. I often ask Daisy or Lizelle to turn it down if there are not alot of others in there or simply to change it to something I Like.........LOL
