With the politics in SJO, they may get jerked around forever.

I saw Wanda at 2.15 this afternoon and she told me that she now has the necessary documents and will open on Monday, Jan 19 at 9AM. : :
I plan on being one of the first customers.

This is great. I wasn't "around" when any of the other infamous monger establishments came into being. This will be my first chance (hopefully) to witness the birth of a new San Jose institution.

Frankly, I'm shocked more guys aren't posting encouragement for the Zona Blue-CRT discount. Why would they give it if no one on the board even cares enough to post? Oh well.

I wish them luck. Hey, if it works for them, maybe I'll open my own place down there one day. Come on, how many of us haven't dreamed about it?

Well, it`s official. Zona Blue is open for business this morning. I got there around 11:30AM, took a quick tour of the new facility which is very nice and then had an hour plus session with the Nica Vanessa, finishing up with steam, a co-ed shower and a refresco in the comfortable living room with deep sofas and a huge TV with cable.

The place looks great. Nicely decorated and equipped it actually smells new. The rooms are smallish but each has it´s own shower and a firm, comfortable, cot-sized bed against one wall. Instead of TV in the rooms, which I hate, there is a mirror on the ceiling over the beds so you can watch your own show. Just enough room for two on the beds and a ceiling fan in each room to cool you down a bit. A room near the entry to meet the chicas, the nice sala in the rear with a bar, sauna, steam and I`ll bet you could get a bite to eat there too if you were going to spend a while. I like the place.

Wanda was there to meet and greet looking very managerial in a nice black dress. Since I guess the CRT discount is still being negotiated she gave me the "Don Gordo" discount and I paid 16,000 colones for a very relaxed and unhurried session. For five bucks more than NF I will probably make ZB my new favorite MP. Let´s hope the damn politicians and Fuerza Publica leave them the hell alone so we can all enjoy the new facility.

I definitely give the mexpat seal of approval to Zona Blue and to Vanessa. Cute and very sweet, she gave quite a good massage and got into the sex in a way that few of the jaded MP chicas do. She loves DATY and the BBBJ is back along with besitos and some serious ballin`. MY knees were wobbly when we finished

Now that ZB is rolling, maybe we (or the CRT staff) should write a letter to city officials about how elegant and professional this enterprize is and how impressed CRT is that such a fine establishment should so conveniently and properly be located in beautiful Barrio Amon!! Maybe even a small add in Tico Times or AM Costa Rica. Don't we as a tourist entity need to "balance" the PR pitch as of late? Now there's an idea for paying dues; Political clout!

Mexpat...thanks for the quick update and encouragine news. Was New Fantasy still shut down today...anybody go by there?

Jazz...while we share sentiments about positive reinforcement of local govt leaving these places alone...it probably would not work in this culture. Establishments and lifestyles like this have ALWAYS been tolerated to some extent in Lat Am, but anytime such things become too obvious or high profile...the moral contradictions of this culture sets in and a majority want the places shut down...even people who might actually like the activity. They just want it kept "in the dark". So I think...lets keep it low key and enjoy this establishment while it lasts.

TMAN - Good point. I think your phrase "moral contradiction" describes the situation accurately. It seems the moralists always have a more obnoxious voice in these matters, especially in the States. Even when one of their own is "outed," the flock blames it on Original Sin and Man's weakness. Still, I think any special interest (like us) can lobby, if discretely, provided they have the numbers in their organization. By "lobby" I don't mean payoffs, but rather an education of the advantages to their economy.

If it could be shown that our "special interest" generates literally thousands of dollars accrued to hotels, restaurants, clubs, tour agents, rental cars, taxis, booze, gambling losses (sorry guys) and the list goes on - perhaps it could make a difference. Naive? Maybe.

As far as hurrying down, believe me, I'm on for the last week in March! Haven't started counting yet, but will soon! Hope we can have a cold one!

Artes y Sauna was forced out of business. They were acussed of "pimping" the girls. Prostitution is allowed in Costa Rica, yet pimping is not.

Since the receptionist at Artes y Sauna would collect all the money from the client and then pay the chicas, the authorities considered that as pimping.

Hope this clarifies any questions.
