Hi Everyone I came across these pages earlier today after trying to research what exercises I can safely do whilst recovering from L4/L5 discectomy decompression and fusion. I had my surgery on the 7th April 2011 at The Walton Centre. I have also had C4/5 discectomy and fusion 11 Mths ago at the same hospital.
I am currently doing the stretches recommended by the physio in the hospital and am gradually building up my walking. It would appear from all the information available that mobilisation is key?
After the cervical spine op last year I can honestly say that I am so glad that I had the op, as I am pain free in my arms, it was so debilitating..occasionally have a small amount of neck pain...nothing compared to pre op. I am wanting to improve my posture and become fitter and healthier and am just interested in types of exercise available, so far I have found Nordic Walking..looks interesting..
I would like to learn Yoga or Pilates if anyone has any advice I am willing to listen...I appreciate I may need a little more time to recover just looking around.
Nice to meet you all, Joanne
