Weird, I thought when I went inNovember there was more business then in April in Patong.

But Karon and Kata were a disaster! Karon-center was as good as closed down, the bars were even not operating! In Kata I sat alone at the bar and only went once! No "ambiance"

As said I like it quieter, but not that quiet! :what:

Maybe there are a different category of people arriving for christmas and new year, e.g. more couples and families instead of bar punters. This time of the year is also most expensive, so regulars to Thailand maybe prefer other times of the year.

The hotels are full, lot of people still try to book for christmas and new year but can't because the hotels are full. (I see that in my hotel booking statistics)

I would say a lot of people are staying away because its getting very expensive in high season compared to prices during low season, And then to make matters worse, All the bars closing at 2am is just another nail in the coffin :sad:
