Maybe some of you missed this, but as far as I know the GST rebate no longer exists. I think that program ended last March.

Regarding the rebate, it seems that most breathing souls will receive $600.

Now 4 years ago, that would have bought me about 500 Toonies, now it will hardly get me 500 Loonies.

So, unless WiWi brings in PiPi and the rest of the $100 hawties, I may be abstaining in the near future.

Look into that, QM.

I guess I was referring to the GST credit, which is geared towards ppl with low and modest incomes as a rebate. The amount is something like $600 or so a year and income level has to be something like $25,000 or lower inorder to qualify, but imo that program only exists because we Canadians are overtaxed anyway. Still can't beat the Bush handout..but come to think of it, does it even begin to offset the sky high prices at the pump?

It will hardly offset the sky-high prices at the pump, but what I worry most about is how much I am going to have to pay for a simple ear of corn?

One of life's great pleasures, but with the crops being diverted to other uses, it will cost a lot more. Sigh.
