What kind of accountant calculates the spa owners taxes ? Inquiring mind .

There are dishonest merchants, big or small. The bigger ones may be more smart and aggressive in not paying the proper tax. Spa owners like many cash businesses may take advantage of the system because of lack of records on transactions. Accountants can only process the data given to them and for obvious reason, many would not challenge the clients, except it is too obvious that it could not satisfy CRA, Accountants have to make a living and those small businesses too. Get one big fish that did not pay millions of dollars taxes would be far better of punishing a small hard working spa owner.

…so my accountant goes, oh, u bought a computer? Thats deduction… but its 4 my son? Its ok, no problem, its deduction… & more & more imaginary deductns…

So, c’mon, all u dreadfully honest folk out there… this aint my personal accountant… he does same 4 all his clients… nobody called cops on him yet…

Do taxes 4 spa, & there so many flexible fun ways spa can take payment 2u … & u dont hafta make 2 many questionable deductions… if some cash income isnt reported… guess what? Accountant only reports on numbers in front of him…

Same as every small business, many cash transactins go unreported…. So the fuck what…

AMPs very different f/ body rubs 2… guessing it’s a few Chinese guys doing most of AMP biz… & anyone willing 2 take free rm fee as benefit gonna b highly favoured

Anyone who has any work or service done by anyone else has heard the words "pay cash -no tax" .
I would guess that aside from the fully compliant businesses that register and pay tax on all business, there is a huge percentage of business done cash.
Of course I have no personal experience on either side of a transaction to back up this suspicion.

yup spa owner's personal vehicle is also written off for tax purposes as well. oh the house they live in can be written off as part of the employee benefit. the list goes on and on.

Only a percentage of vehicle expenses can be written off. Driving to and from the spa doesn't qualify as a business expense. If the mpa drove to a customer, that would qualify.

There is no way you can track down every cash transaction businesses like spas, hair salons, restaurants, small construction companies ,small contractors, small paving companies and such. I do know of some bigger spas with lots of credit card transactions show over 2-300 thousands a yr income and they have been in the business for so many years. Most accountants know what to hold and what to show. Small spas are too small of a fish for the government to be bothered. Every business doing lots of cash transactions will always cheat no matter what business it is. Even our ex PM Brian Mulroney tried to hide $300K cash , why can't the small businesses?

You're wrong. I know of small businesses that have been busted by the CRA. Stop downplaying the crimes you and your clients are committing and writing it off like its nothing. All it takes is one report to the CRA, and they're on you.

These are registered business like any other business.

It's no different than a Lawyer. They do the service, you pay and that's it.

There are a few of those, it depends on the owners, you can pick and choose where you want to go. If you pick and choose to go to places like Yi Ren and Angel spas, you will get those for sure. Health Hub is one now. The new owner who used to work at SL as Lisa a few yrs back is cheap as hell. Towels hang dry and girls have to bring their own Kleenex. And stay away from any spa run by May ex owner of Yi Ren and Health Hub. Her new one is Oasis Hub.
They may drive expensive cars but just like the saying " Money can't buy class".

CRA often audits small businesses by draw; so no matter big or small, it depends on your luck. I heard a one man company got checked too. Some, probably most smart, Spa owners would report sales that got recorded; that is those involved with a credit card and RMT receipt. An owner told me that she has to report some sales anway, so she does not mind to report those that has records. The best is to do things properly and sleep well every night.
Not keeping the spa clean and supply clean towels is very short sighted. There is one spa that has wonderful young girls but it really stinks. I was meeting a 20+ young girl in that spa and she had taken all her cloth off. I then detected a horrible bad smell, not sure from the girl or the room. I did not want to touch the girl and just chatted with her for a while and left politely. Never return to such a shitty place again although the girls are amazing there.

For mpa… dunno. If they’re self-employed, they can, if not, they can’t.

For spa owner, % of use going 2 & returning from spa= deductions… same as any business owner… & if u pick up girls & bring them, like Renee did (does?) for Coco, totally a deduction.

Key= keeping log books of yer mileage… er, actual car mileage, not spa mileage <g>
