Hi all.

Does anyone have this table for home visits?

once its out the case its not actually too bad to carry up and down stairs.

I find it hard to believe that the Affinity ergo is heavier than the supalite

Im looking to buy nice and light portable. In an ideal world, I'd love http://mirrormill.com/cgi-bin/clientdev/starlight/index.html but I dont ahve that kind of money right now.

Any feedback you have on the affinity ergo would be appreciated.

it's exactly the same as the oakworks advanta which i have used and the affinity 8 is half the price. Great value.

I find the advanta particularily great for therapists who aren't so tall and sometimes have difficulty getting fully over the client and into the erector spinae or if you want to access the oppsite lattismus because of the narrowed middle section. The client doesnt of course feel the narrowness there as that's where their hips or waist will be.

great table if you ask me!

thanks for that. yes, the advanta (10-11kg) is good, though it looks like the affinity is heavier (12.5kg).

I need a new table as my supalite is in my room in town and I need one for home but hopefing to get one that is mote portable than supalite so I can take it places with ease. I live in a 3 story house and my treatment room is on the top floor so the lighter the better.

I was involved with the specification and selection of the Affinity 8 couch!

Lucky G is partially right, the Affinity 8 is like the Oakworks Advanta. The Advanta still has a couple of differences (not withstanding the price!) Firstly, the Advanta is shorter which would explain the weight difference, and the cable mechanism underneath is different which would be better if you are seated.

To answer your point, the Supalite is not 10-11kgs, the Masterlite that was copied was, in the case of the Supalite, the wood is harder on the supalite and the frame is slightly beefed - the weight of that table is actually about the same as the Affinity 8. The Affinity 8 has a solid base under the foam unlike the supalite which is made of trampoline material. A solid base makes for better treatments, but is heavier as a consequence, per square inch.

It might sound crazy but weight is not the only factor that determines portability! The Supalite is wide for the UK market (about 30") so when folded will be 30" off the ground. If your inside leg measurement is less than this, then you will have to "lever" it to carry, more so if you are going upstairs. As a consequence it will seem heavier! The Affinity 8 is 28" so QED less levering. If you are 5'5" it will still seem heavier.


If you can tell me your height, treatments and approx budget I may be able to help with some alternatives.
