although ive only sampled it once...offshore does a nice 'homemade' curry,not quite on par what u would be served in a proper indian restaurant.
from what i remember it was a defintely a good meal,and would order again..
IIRC they used to do ' curry nights',maybe LIL can shed some light as hes a reg.

Had one last week in a Hotel in Bahrain and it was frickn spicy ...

If CTM was invented in the UK but lets assume it was invented by a person from India, why would that not make it an authentic dish? was every current French dish invented in France? and therefore if a french guy adds a twist to it but happens to live in Thailand at the time, its not French anymore?

To be correct should they change their names from Indian Restaurants to Indian 'style' restaurants or 'English style' Indian Restaurants?

Yes British Indian curries are totally different to any you will find anywhere else in the world.
I have visited India about 20 times and I have cooked in British Indian restaurants.
It's all in the base sauce.

possibly glasgow... let's not split hair.... recipes & dishes do not fall into intellectual property but possibly a creative commons domain... hence attribution to a specific source is always anything but a claim...

and Dodger has an interesting angle... since recipes/dishes are not truly IP attributed to a person or entity hence having an origin in nationality but ... it definitely has origins in a culture... would be politically correct to call CTM of Indo British origin...

Can we etch this proclamation on a crisp naan ???

Isn’t the point though that these “foreign” restaurants will also try to accommodate the local taste, flavor etc?

For me the best burger, pizza, kebab, Chinese or CTM etc. I’ve had where in countries other than the (supposed) originating countries or regions.
