Aqua Detox

Hi All,
I'm new to this so hope this ends up looking ok...
I wondered if anybody has ever tried an Aqua Detox treatment and if anyone has any views on the treatment? I am 'half-thinking' of buying a machine but I can't seem to find much in the way of facts and experiences..
Can anybody help me?

I had a one off treatment with one of these machines a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, I was going down with a nasty infection so it did knock the stuffing out of me for a few days, but I did feel better in myself, if you get my drift. And I do intend to have further treatments as soon as we can organise it.

I would suggest you contact Pete ( the guy who treated me) via his web site http://www.allergytestuk.net/ - he's a top fella & won't give you any bull.

I know he's tried several machines before settling on the one he uses now, so I would say he's in an ideal position to point you in the right direction if he can't help directly. [8D]

It's true that you can see all the gunk in the water that comes out of your system. Some think yuk, how embarrassing - I think - better out than in.

Juliet, if you are going to the expo this weekend aqua detox will be there so give it a try b4 u buy!
i am hoping to have a session, although the ones i have seen advertised are very expensive!

Thanks so much for the replies - I will get in touch with Peter. Unfortunately I can't get to the exhibition this weekend but that would have been a good place to try a treatment. If anyone else has any other experiences I'd be very grateful to hear more.

I have an aqua-detox machine and use it at the salon that I work.

I have had my machine for about 6 months now and it is doing really well.

I get people who come for the course - about 6 and some people just like to try it out and just come for one session.

Some people see a reaction straight away, but for some it takes a few sessions. Most people feel more energetic after, and I have helped people with allergies (no more skin rashes), Arthritis (reduces the pain).

I had 2 Aqua Detox machines in my salon and they were nothing but a BIG problem! The machines cost me £3000 for the two and I had one awful experience where a client was sat there having the treatment and the machine blew up, and my electricity went off.[]

The client was virtually inconsolable because it was her first time and she had been quite anxious about having the treatment in the first place. She had brought 2 friends with her and they were both saying that it was totally unacceptable. I did my best to try and resolve the situation, I ended up giving the lady £100 worth of gift vouchers because she was threatening to take the matter further.

The whole episode cost me a fortune, as I then had to cover the costs of sending the faulty machine back to Aqua Detox and they then tried to charge me for repairing it, when I had only had it for 3 months!

6 weeks passed and no sign of a new machine or even a repaired one, so I called them to demand a refund for both mahines and I would send the other one back. Anyway, I sent the other one back and then the company went into receivership, so I didn't see a penny![]

I had clients who had booked courses of treatments with me and I had to honour them, so I ended up buying another make of detox machine from a company who are excellent, and the machine was cheaper!

I would recommend if you are looking to offer this treatment in your salon avoid Aqua Detox like the plague! I would recommend buying a O2 Detox, or Platinum Detox, as both companies offer after-sales support and the machines aren't so cheaply made!

Have to admit this is something that has caught my eye a few times at shows and exhibitions where I have seen it. It always seems to be popular with people wanting to try it out. Out of interest how have people found them for clients wanting treatments - do they like them?

I think next time I see them I should have a treatment and get some first hand experience.

I bought mine off e-bay. It's a light use model so fine for home use or 'light' professional use (I think that means around 4 sessions a day)
New it's around £500 - I got it for £280

Those Total Style ones on E-Bay are absolute rubbish. I had one for 2 months and it no longer works, cost me £385 and no come back as it is not a company selling them.

Also, you can't get replacement arrays for them and other arrays from other detox machines don't fit, and my array I had with the machine only lasted 10 treatments!

My clients love my O2 detox machine, however. I treat about 40 people a week and charge £35 a treatment.

If you are considering getting one of these machines, use a company that offers some sort of warranty, or at least a company that will come out and demonstrate before you buy.

If anything happens to one of your clients during a treatment, you need a company that you can come back to and that will take responsibility.

I would recommend O2 Detox or Platinum Detox, but make sure you order direct from either of these companies, as agents can't always offer the after-sales support therapists need.

Hi,

I had an aqua detox treatment last month at a retreat where the therapist gave me a glass of freshly juiced apple and orange juice, to help start off my detox. I then had just fruit juice for 3 days. I felt fantastic and lost 4lbs in weight. I really enjoyed the aqua detox and it was fasinating watching the 'gunge' leave my body! Evidently it can be different colours depending on whether you have too much fat or sugar, etc. Great experience.

Would love to have one and add it to my therapies. Does anyone know if we need to have any training on this or are we able to just start to practice. What about insurance, do companies cover you for this without a certificate.

If I was you, I would avoid purchasing from Aqua Detox. I had a machine from them which blew up whilst a client was having the treatment and then they went into receivership so I didn't get my money back or a replacement machine!

The company I use (O2 Detox) offered training to all of my staff and they came to the salon to train us all for the day, we all got certificates. They also sorted out the insurance for me, which was really helpful.

Have any clinical trials been done? I have been told that the water changes colour due to the reaction of electricity/copper (within the array) and salt.

OMG!! []Did you see this in the Mirror last week?? Another reason why I would NEVER purchase from Aqua Detox International EVER again. I urge you all to use a reputable company for detox machines I have had nothing but hassle from Aqua Detox.

This outfit is run by Robert Bevan, 63, a man who could do with a miracle cure for his business record.

He was on the board of Aqua Detox Ltd, currently in administration with debts of £813,000.

Rejuva Slim (Oxshott) Ltd was liquidated owing £112,000, and AATC International went under owing £87,000.

Bevan International was £310,000 in the red when it was liquidated, and Campay owed £11,000."

Since my last question (further up the page) a retired chemist friend of mine who was having a 'taster' treatment asked if he could take some of the water for analysis - the therapist would not let him. Wonder why?
